Jim Alley / Guillermo’s Coffeehouse

With 25 years in the telecommunications industry, Jim shifted gears at the age of 55 to become a serial entrepreneur. His tenure at Motorola Mobility positioned him well for the career change realizing that his skill sets acquired over the years were very transferrable to his next entrepreneurial ventures. After Motorola was purchased by Google, then Lenovo, the corporate layoffs began and Jim found himself redefining his next career move. After 6 months of “soulsearching” and deciding what he wanted to be when he grew up, Jim decided on becoming a franchise owner of Meineke Car Care where he now owns two successful stores in North Little Rock and Conway, Arkansas. Always looking for an opportunity, Jim also seized an opportunity when he acquired Guillermo’s Coffee, Tea, & Roastery in April of 2017 where his 26-year-old son Josh runs the operations. This acquisition came as no surprise to those who know Jim because they know he is always one to be there to encourage others – especially the youth. This
is illustrated by his relentless commitment in volunteering across numerous organizations over the years.

Jim’s commitment to volunteering is best described by looking at the numerous organizations he has supported over the years including: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, an avid soccer coach and manager, a fanatic baseball coach and manager, Little Rock Futbol Club Board Member, The Exodus Project Instructor and Mentor (Prison Ministry), Junior Achievement, ARORA, and most recently serves as the Vice President on the executive board of the West Village merchants association.

As a Life Coach to many, College Instructor, Author of the book “Hey God is that You Doing Your Thing or Just a Coincidence”, Business Consultant, and an Ordained Minister who has supported several mission trips, Jim is committed to simply serving others. This includes his own family of two sons Josh age 26, James age 29, and his wife Julie of 34 years. His passion during his spare time is unwinding at his log cabin in the Ouachita National Forest or catching a plane to explore as many countries as he can during his lifetime.
